O'Rourke Cup 17/04/2011

Strokestown 1-12, Padraig Pearses 2-7 (venue: Woodmount)

Town picked up another 2 points in the senior league with a great win away in Padraig Pearses. Played in great conditions it was a great game of football between two committed teams. Truthfully 'town could have won by more but a number of shots dropped into the keepers hands or went wide. Pearses went in at the break leading thanks to a number of frees but the 'town defence restricted them to just two scores in the second half. Enda Molloy grabbed the crucial goal which put the 'town ahead with 8 minutes to play and they never looked like giving up the lead in the closing minutes playing some superb keep ball.
Best for the 'town on the day were full back Niall Brogan, centre back Paddy Brogan and full forward Thomas Shanagher.

Team: John McHugh, Ian Rogers, Niall Brogan, Damian Caslin, Donal Molloy, Paddy Brogan, Daniel Rogers, Matty Colum, Seamus Collins, RuaidhrĂ Molloy, Kenny Bosquette, John Rogers, Enda Molloy, Thomas Shanagher, Conor Silke.
Subs: John Hagan for Damian Caslin, Philip Duignan for Seamus Collins, Ronan Owens for Thomas Shanagher.
