O'Rourke Cup, 22/04/2011. Strokestown 0-16, Kilbride 0-7. Venue: Strokestown (new field)
The senior team made it 3 wins a row in the senior league with a great win over neighbours Kilbride on the first game in the new facilities. Town played some lovely football using the wide open spaces on the new field to carve open Kilbride at times. Town hit 10 points in the first half with Conor Silke, Seamie Collins and Enda and Donal Molloy all on target. Town kept it going in the second half with scores coming from Emmet Collins, Niall Brogan and Kenny Bosquette. Best for the 'Town on the day were the two Brogans, seamie Collins and Matty Colum who bossed mid-field and Conor Silke, Enda Molloy and RuaidhrĂ Molloy who linked up brilliantly in the forward line. Hopefully this win will start our new field becoming a fortress for the 'Town. Credit must go to the committee as the the club is going to have wonderful facilities when all is complete.
